Mr. Olsen is the father of Henry James Olsen and James Bartholomew Olsen.
History
The life of Mr. Olsen is shrouded in mystery, as his eldest son would frequently make inconsistent claims about his past and once even admitted to outright lying.[1][2][3][4] All that is known is that he had two sons, whom he named Henry James Olsen and James Bartholomew Olsen. Olsen attended the funeral of his oldest son in 2009, together with his wife and younger son.[5]
Notes
- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Smallville and is an adaptation of Jake Olsen. The original character was created by Jerry Ordway and Kerry Gammill and first appeared in Superman (Volume 2) #39.
Trivia
- In "Committed", his oldest son first claims that Mr. Olsen is an investment banker. Later, Henry James claims that Mr. Olsen is a part-time mechanic and full-time alcoholic.[4] However, the latter does not line up with his appearance in "Doomsday",[5] making it possible that it was not the truth either.
