My Adventures with Superman. It premiered on July 7, 2024.
Synopsis for "The Death of Clark Kent"
Brainiac has begun his torture of Superman by trapping him inside the Black Mercy, a Kryptonian device that traps is wearer inside a digital simulation. Within the Black Mercy, Brainiac forces Superman to relive some of his most difficult battles against his deadliest adversaries. Brainiac is unimpressed by Superman's opponents but shows interest upon watching Superman's power grow whenever his loved ones are in danger.
Lois and her crew have found Kara in deep space and Jimmy invites her onboard their spaceship. Jimmy is happy to see Kara, but Lois is hostile because she kidnapped Superman and wants to know where he is. Kara explains that she took Superman to meet her father and says that they must see her father, for she believes Superman might be in danger. When they reach Kandor, Kara says that Brainiac's artificial intelligence is stored within the station, while Mallah and the Brain believe they can use Kandor's technology to modify their spaceship. While Lois and her friends save Superman, Kara wishes to speak to Brainiac.
Once they infiltrate Kandor, they find that the robots Brainiac uses for combat have been shut down and Kara explains that Brainiac must be undergoing maintenance. Before Lois and Jimmy go to save Superman, Kara attempts to talk about her feelings to Jimmy, but backs out at the last minute and Lois teases Jimmy about it.
Within the Black Mercy, Brainiac has figured out that Superman feels affection towards Lois and Jimmy. He notices that although Superman loves his friends, he fears that they might reject it. The simulation changes to depict scenarios in which people, such as Lex Luthor, Sam Lane and even Lois have expressed distrust towards Superman. Brainiac manipulates the simulation to have Lois insult Superman and says that she doesn't love him because he is not human. Superman, however, knows that this is all a lie and tries to fight back, but Brainiac's control over the Black Mercy is too great.
Kara reaches Kandor's command center and finds Brainiac trying to control Superman. She is horrified and demands to know what he is doing to her cousin, but Brainiac criticizes her for disobedience. When she asks about the planets destroyed by the Empire, Brainiac replies that the planets she found were unworthy to join the Empire. Kara had insisted that the planets be preserved, he refused and ordered their destruction. Kara realized that Brainiac manipulated her entire life and Brainiac admits it was easy for him to do it when she was younger, but as she grew, she became more independent and more difficult to control. Fortunately for him, now that he has Superman, he doesn't need her anymore.
Brainiac is forced to fight Superman and Kara in both the Black Mercy and the real world. Kara damages Brainiac's body and sheds tears upon apparently killing the closest thing he had to a father, but Brainiac reveals himself to still be alive and in control of Superman's body. His plan all along was to trap Superman in the Black Mercy so that he could transfer his consciousness into Superman's body because the machines of Kandor could no longer sustain him. Superman is now trapped in a fantasy where lives with Jor-El and Lara on Krypton.
Using Superman's body, Brainiac attacks Kara just as Lois and Jimmy arrive at Kandor's command center. Brainiac explained that, during the fall of Krypton, Kryptonians were no longer born, but rather genetically engineered. Brainiac himself was constructed to be a machine of war but he became infected with an emotion: love towards Kara. However, he believes love to be a weakness and that Kara must die for him to complete his purpose. Jimmy tries to use Kryptonite to force Brainiac into leaving Superman's body but Brainiac replies he can transfer his consciousness into a robotic body, while the Kryptonite will just kill Superman and Kara. He then opens a window, causing Lois, Jimmy and Kara to be sucked into outer space.
Brainiac teleports Kandor into Earth, while Lois and her friends are rescued by Mallah and the Brain, who have successfully upgraded their ship. Although Brainiac has escaped, Lois refuses to give up and reveals she has stolen a thought projector from Brainiac. She uses it on herself to find Superman and falls unconscious.
