N'Lasa was an alien being who was exiled to Earth for his crimes.

N'Lasa was part of the Manhunters' rebellion against the Guardians. Judged for his crimes, the Guardians bio-engineered him for longevity, and exiled him to Earth. He attempted to destroy the robotic Manhunters, and failed. He created a group of Samurai warriors, the Jujin, who again lost against the Manhunters. N'Lasa was imprisoned and his mind was and body were experimented on by the Manhunters. Linked to a psionic hive mind, he attempted to subvert the indoctrination of several Manhunter recruits, including Dumas, who was a partial success. N'Lasa shows all this to Mark Shaw, before being attacked by the new Dumas.[1] He reveals himself to Shaw after Shaw has defeated Dumas, and gives him a new baton. N'Lasa offers to be Mark's mentor, should he desire it.[2] Mark returns the staff to N'Lasa. N'Lasa declares himself ever in Mark's service.[3] Later, the dying imposter Manhunter mentally sends the baton back to N'Lasa, covered in blood.[4]

N'Lasa's existence, and his entire story, were revealed to be false, and the result of deep government programming.[5]
