Nang Tu (Quality Universe)

For centuries, treasure-seekers, robbers, and more had attempted to loot the All-Seeing Eye diamond from the Khotan Buddha statue located in the Forbidden Temple of the Man-Eating Spider. However, they were always killed by one of the temple's traps, fearsome beasts, or Agor, the spider god who dwelt within the statue. The priests would also aid in the downfall of these would-be thieves.

Nang Tu took up the position of high priestess of the temple and protected the diamond from outsiders. She did so with the help of the other temple priests and her own magical capabilities.

As World War II raged on, Jock Kellogg, wearing the magic cloak of Merlin,^[1] started taking a more active role in the fighting. In order to aid the British relief efforts, he traveled to the temple to steal the All-Seeing Eye diamond. Nang Tu watched him enter the secret tunnels hidden by the statue, confident that Agor would dispatch him. When Merlin emerged later, she set her underlings on him as they first arrows at the magician. Merlin turned his assailants into bats, but his magic failed to affect Nang Tu, since she herself was a magic-wielding sorceress.

The two fought, but Nang Tu was ultimately impaled on her own spear weapon.^[2]

Magic: In addition to serving as high priestess, Nang Tu is also a powerful sorceress.
- Magic Immunity: When Merlin cast a spell that turned her archers into bats, the magic did not affect her.
- Superhuman Strength: Nang Tu threw her spear hard enough to embed it into stone and proved strong enough that Merlin could only overpower her by magically enhancing his own strength.
Fangs: Nang Tu threatens to "tear [Merlin] to pieces" with her fangs.

This version of Nang Tu, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022–2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
Nang Tu is the only other living magic-user Merlin faced off against.
