Nephthys is the Egyptian Goddess of the dead, darkness and magic.
History
Although married to her brother Set, Nephthys had her son Anubis, guardian of the Egyptian Underworld, by her other brother Osiris.[1]
Nephthys guards the Bana-Mighdall armory[2] where the divine weapons of the Bana Amazons are kept, such as the Bow of Ra and the Mistress axe. When a young Artemis tried to take possession of the Bow of Ra, she was rejected, and Nephthys appeared to explain that it is not the warrior who chooses the weapon, but the weapon that chooses her.[3] Some time later, under Nephthys' instructions,[4] Artemis became the wielder of Mistress.[2]
