Before America's entry into WWII, a space ship from Neptune crashed on Earth, and the giant people aboard were killed.

Neptune is the eighth planet from the star Sol at a distance of 30.07 A.U.. It is 30,783 miles in diameter. Its day equals 0.73 Earth days and its year equals 164.79 Earth years. The temperature at Neptune's cloud tops is -300 (F and its gravity is 1.12 that of Earth. Neptune is a gas and ice-rich planet much like Uranus and also has a ring-system and a number of moons. The Neptune colonies were established on Neptune's larger moons, Triton and Nereid.

History

Earth-Two

Before America's entry into WWII, a space ship from Neptune crashed on Earth, and the giant people aboard were killed. Hawkman found the wreckage, and salvaged an egg, which he took home and hid. His fiancee found the egg and gave it to Noel Ratchford, a scientist. The egg hatched, producing a Neptunian boy, and Ratchford trained him for a career of evil. He grew into a giant, and could emit deadly beams from his eyes. Ultimately Hawkman fought the giant boy, to the death.[1]

Early in WWII, German scientist Gootsden managed to strand eight members of the Justice Society on eight different planets, in an alternate dimension. Dr. Mid-Nite arrived on an alternate-dimension version of Neptune, which was inhabited. Using his medical science, he was able to cure several harmful diseases. The grateful Neptunians rewarded Mid-Nite with a set of books containing advanced knowledge. Soon afterward, he returned to Earth.[2][3] It was later revealed that Dr. Mid-Nite had actually traveled to the Neptune of another dimension, in Hyperspace, not the native Neptune of the Earth-Two dimension.[4]

Shortly after WWII, an inhabited piece of the planet Neptune broke off, flew across the Solar System, and landed on Earth, forming a new continent in the Pacific Ocean, called Neptunia.[5]

Earth-One

Some time in the first half of the 20th Century, a piece of the all-male planet Neptune broke off, flew across the Solar System, and landed on Earth, forming an undersea city in the Pacific Ocean, called Neptunia.[5]

Earth-S

In the late 40s, King Ceezahr Kaan of Pluto abducted an Octopus Man from Neptune, claiming it be the Mightiest creature on the planet, though it proved to be less powerful than Captain Marvel [6]

Some time after WWII, Neptune was populated by intelligent robots that usually have names that end in "-six" . Freak show operator Oggsixx tried to abduct Captain Marvel to show off to Neptunians, but was assuaged when he later found a rare "Chink-Chunk," a form of living rock. There is an implication that something called a "100-Eyed Herodatyx" once lived in the Hidden Caverns, but is no longer exotic enough to be profitable. [7]

Living Fireballs from Beyond Known Space invaded Pluto Tower, a Neptunian base on the planet, killing one of their researchers and then eradicating all known life from the planet, then moved on to eradicate all life on Neptune. [8]

853rd Century

Neptune of the 853rd Century will be terraformed to become an ocean planet capable of supporting life, mainly aquatic creatures. The planet will be patrolled by Aquaman, and be a place where entire cities of living coral gently ride the ocean currents, where aquatic life from all corners of the cosmos schools in harmony. Available here will be the finest accommodations and most exotic resorts. Neptune will be among the most popular vacation destinations in the quadrant.

Future State

Neptune is the home planet of a very technologically advanced underwater society that was aware of The Confluence, a vast, interdimensional ocean which connects all of time and space. Through the Confluence, the superhero Aquaman (Jackson Hyde) accidentally arrived on Neptune and was mistaken for an Earth spy, being imprisoned and held captive for years. Neptunians believed that regret and living with emotional pain were wasteful, and their army rides sharks similar to those on Earth.[9]

  • In Earth-Two continuity, Neptune is orbited by the former planet Femina, now relocated and owned by the Neptunians as one of their moons.[5]
