New Adventure Comics #25 is an issue of the series New Adventure Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of April, 1938.
Synopsis for Captain Jim of the Texas Rangers: "Jane and Johnny, Part 25 (of 27)"
Jess discovers a tunnel leading from the cellar under the shack, and follows it for about thirty feet then emerges outside. His horse is still where he left her tied. He searches the shack for a gun, and while he's inside hears hoofbeats approaching. He ducks into the back room and ties himself up again, seemingly, and plays possum. Two outlaws walk into the shack, and are fooled by this ruse.
Meanwhile Captain Jim and Ranger Bob are following the trail of Rusty and Spike, who have ridden off with Jane and Johnny. Rusty drops back, picks out a good ambush spot, and watches their back-trail. He spots an approaching rider, and has a talk with Spike about it, leaving Johnny and Jane momentarily unsupervised. Jimmy explores a narrow passage in the rocks and finds a fireplace at the end of it. Some wood is nearby and Jimmy brought some matches, so he lights a signal fire for Jim and Bob.
Meanwhile and elsewhere, Fletch and Scrub head for the border with the stolen herd.
