The Pernicious Parasite is an episode of season 1 of New Adventures of Superman. It premiered on December 17, 1966.
Synopsis for "The Pernicious Parasite"
Thief I.C. Harris tries to steal a valuable scientific isotope, but finds exposure to it has given him the power to absorb the strength of anyone near him. He robs a bank and drains the police into unconsciousness just by getting near them. Clark Kent tries to intervene, and Harris absorbs so much power from him, he figures out it must really be Superman in disguise! The Man of Steel escapes, but Harris lures him back by throwing a rocket at the Washington Monument. Determining he can't defeat an enemy like Harris by force, Superman instead decides to give the criminal exactly what he wants. Harris quickly realizes something's wrong and runs away, only to go up in a terrific explosion. His Earthling body couldn't contain all the power of a Kryptonian man.
