New Gods #16 is an issue of the series New Gods (Volume 1) with a cover date of February, 1978.
Synopsis for "The Titan and the Hunter!"
Lonar is sent away into the Source, but after attending the ceremony, the five have to go back to Earth and be even more vigilant. Darkseid sends Titan, a giant warrior who served during the first war, to battle Orion and capture Gen. Maxwell Torch. Orion wins the first bout and the antagonistic Torch cannot deny anymore that he is a friend. Orion tells him of the Old Gods and why is Earth so important in the war between the gods: Earth was created by the Old Gods, and it is a remnant, a memory of their greatness. Orion is summoned by Izaya to meet with Jezebelle, and he leaves behind Torch, thinking Darkseid won't attack him twice in the same day. Highfater tells them that Lucifar offered information about Esak, as he hates Apokolips and sends them into the ruins of Happyland, the macabre theme park of Desaad. Titan surprises Torch in the middle of the night, and kidnaps him.
