New Gods (Volume 3) #19 is an issue of the series New Gods (Volume 3) with a cover date of August, 1990.

Synopsis for "Homecoming!"

Necromina returns to Apokolips, her army of undead carrying Orion as bounty. In return, she demands Darkseid to give her control over the Dreggs of Apokolips. That's her mistake, and Darkseid now stands ready to kill her for her insolence. She talks her way out of it, and Darkseid grants her wish. After Necromina is gone, DeSaad walks in, and he smells fear on Darkseid: fear concerning the return of Yuga Khan. But Darkseid is too proud to admit his fears, and he dismisses his words as mistaken.

On Earth, the Black Racer arrives in Victor Lanza's hospital room and takes him to the afterlife.

Back in Apokolips, Orion stands captured in DeSaad's lab, ready for the "drain." He breaks his bonds instants before they drain his powers, and he confronts Darkseid's forces. Orion is outnumbered but not outclassed, and he defeats his opponents. However, he recognizes one of the soldiers as Concord, a "partner" he met when he infiltrated Darkseid's army not long ago. Orion calls out his name, hoping for Concord to recognize him, but they take advantage of his dropping his guard and incapacitate him.

In New Genesis, Highfather recalls when, long ago, he tried to quench the curiosity of some individuals who dared to seek forbidden knowledge regarding the Old Gods' demise. One of them was Yuga Khan, the first ruler of Apokolips, who, ignoring Izaya's warnings, ventured beyond all limits seeking unlimited knowledge. His curiosity doomed him, converting Khan into a Promethan Giant.

Meanwhile, Yuga Khan arrives on Apokolips, causing all the machinery to blackout. Darkseid, trying to cover his fear, commands DeSaad and his subjects to attack the invader. But DeSaad stands there, savoring Darksaid's terror. Condemning him for his insolence, Darkseid goes to confront Yuga Khan himself. But Khan entraps him, and as he walks inside the citadel, he sarcastically asks Darkseid why he doesn't give "a big kiss and a hug" to his father.
