Quote1.png How many men died to build this statue? How many women went hungry? And to what purpose? To feed the insatiable beast of your pride, Darkseid? Is that worth it? Yes! To you, it is always worth it. The suffering, the pain of millions is fair trade for you to feel a proton more of power! Quote2.png

Synopsis for "BloodLine Part One"

Orion wakes up from the Omega Effect inside the ruins of the Old Gods, surrounded by those known now as the Dreggs. Driven by his violent nature, Orion fights the approaching walking dead, but it still stands after receiving a mortal hit. A hooded figure takes him from the fight and explains the history and downfall of the Old Gods. A prophetess saw their approaching doom, but she was killed for telling the truth, and her fellow Old Gods continued with their battles, which resulted in the death of their world. The hooded man continues with the history of New Genesis and Apokolips, a story Orion doesn't want to hear again. In the visions, Orion sees his mother Tigra and sets his next mission to rescue her from Darkseid's prison.

In New Genesis, Highfather sends the Alpha Bullets to bring Lightray and Orion, but it only reaches Lightray while Orion still roams Apokolips. In Armagetto, Orion disguises himself as a slave worker, but he ditches his disguise and, in a rush of fury, destroys one of Darkseid's statues.

Reports of the statue's destruction reach Darkseid. DeSaad suggests sending guards to eliminate Orion, but Darkseid commands Kalibak and his men to bring him to the citadel so they can force him to join Apokolips' cause. The guards find him running around Armagetto's streets, and Kalibak confronts him personally. In a moment that almost looks like doubt from Kalibak's side, Orion takes his radion pistol and shoots him, getting away from the brute and his men, determined to find his mother.
