Notes[]
- This issue continues retelling the history of the reborn iteration of Prime Earth. The events depicted in this issue span from the aftermath of Crisis on Infinite Earths to the return of Barry Allen in Final Crisis , adapting the Modern Age events within the continuity of Prime Earth.
- There are many changes to the DC continuity:
- The issue confirms that Post-Flashpoint Power Girl is a Temporal Paradox, as she was displaced from the Pre-Crisis Earth-Two to Prime Earth at the end of the First Crisis. However, in the new continuity, she lost her memories, which eventually returned during the Infinite Crisis.
- Similarly, the Kents from Earth-Two/"Earth-2", Earth-Three/"Earth-3" Alex Luthor, and Earth-Prime Superboy are confirmed to be survivors of the Pre-Crisis Multiverse. Like in the original continuity, they lived in the Paradise Dimension before making their return in Infinite Crisis.
- Beth Chapel, Yolanda Montez, and Rick Tyler all debuted after the Crisis in the revised timeline. They were the first member of Infinity, Inc., like in the original continuity.
- Billy Batson also debuted just after the Crisis. The events of Justice League (Volume 2) #0 are confirmed to be his origins in the reborn Prime Earth.
- Roy Harper now discovered the existence of his daughter Lian after the Crisis.
- The return of Superman during the Reign of the Supermen saga now occurs before the Knightfall storyline.
- According to this issue, the Supergirl who died in Crisis on Infinite Earths is the one and same Supergirl who debuted in The Supergirl from Krypton storyline. In the new continuity, Darkseid resurrected her, rather than her having come from Krypton.
- This is also confirmed by Kara's memories from Supergirl (Volume 8) #6.
- However, as mentioned in the issue, the Matrix Supergirl existed in the past of Prime Earth. This was first shown in The Return of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1.
- The birth of Jon Kent is once again retconned. In the reborn timeline, he was born during Superman's one-year retirement from 52 (Volume 1). In the original timeline of Prime Earth, Jon's existence was originally a Temporal Paradox– as Jon was born from Clark and Lois' Pre-Flashpoint selves during the Convergence– later merged into the past of Prime Earth during the cosmic upheavals from Superman: Reborn.
- This issue reveals that Damian Wayne was artificially aged to childhood. It is very possible that he ages slower than normal humans, which could explain why he is a teenager– as he turned fourteen in Robin (Volume 3) #1, whose events chronologically occur in 2021– in modern days (2025).
- Damage (Grant Emerson) is mentioned to be only a descendant of Atom (Al Pratt). In the New Earth continuity, he was son of Pratt.
- Many events and concepts are missing in the new history of the DC Multiverse:
- All of Wildstorm continuity is missing in the reborn timeline of Prime Earth.
- This was already foreshadowed by the Century Babies being missing from the timeline of issue #1;
- However, many Wildstorm characters, including Midnighter, Apollo, Grifter, and Zealoty, have always played an important role in several past and recent storylines;
- Except for a vague mention of Daniel Hall replacing Morpheus as the new Dream, no Vertigo storylines are mentioned in the timeline– even the major Sandman events or Hellblazer's early storylines from Jamie Delano and Garth Ennis runs, which have been referenced many times in the The Sandman Universe stories.
- Tefé Holland is mentioned as Swamp Thing and Abby Arcane's daughter. However, there is no mention of John Constantine being her biological father.
- The existence of many DC characters is also missing in the issue:
- Like in the previous issue, the existence of the Thanagarian Hawks– Katar Hol and Shayera Thal– is completely missing. However, many events from across the DC Rebirth, Infinite Frontier, Dawn of DC, and All In eras have shown that Katar has existed– until the Death of Hawkman storyline– on Prime Earth and Shayera is still alive as of Green Lantern Corps (Volume 4).
- The "Heartbreak Lake" story from DC's Lex and the City #1– implied to be canon during Shayera's appearances from Green Lantern Corps– explicitly reveals that Katar and Shayera disguised themselves for a time as Carter Hall and Shiera Sanders during the "Modern Age" in the new continuity;
- Resurrection Man and the events of Resurrection Man (Volume 1) are not addressed in this issue. However, the events of Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma (Volume 1) showed that those events still occurred in the past of Prime Earth;
- Several Doctor Fates, including Inza Cramer, Kent V. Nelson, and even Fate/Jared Stevens, are not mentioned in the issue. However, their existence was shown in recent stories;[68][69]
- It remains unclear whether the Earth-born Supergirl, Linda Lee Danvers, has existed at some point in time on Prime Earth.
- Several key events are also omitted or just mentioned:
- Gog's Hypertime devastation from The Kingdom is briefly mentioned without explaining any difference with the original events.
- The Earth 22 versions of the Kingdom Come characters have presumably replaced the original Earth-96 iterations in the reborn version of the event;
- The Imperiex War from Our Worlds at War. The existence of Imperiex has been confirmed several times in past stories;[70][71]
- Mister Mind's attack on the 52 worlds of the Pre-Flashpoint Multiverse– eventually prevented by Booster Gold– from 52 #52. Previously, Booster himself confirmed that it occured in the reborn timeline;
- The first Amazon-United States war from Amazons Attack!, which was previously mentioned in Amazons Attack (Volume 2).
- Gog's Hypertime devastation from The Kingdom is briefly mentioned without explaining any difference with the original events.
- All of Wildstorm continuity is missing in the reborn timeline of Prime Earth.
- The DC Timeline is based on research by Mark Waid and Dave Wielgosz. There is also a special thanks to John Wells.
