Notes[]
- Final issue.
- This issue concludes the retelling of the history of the reborn iteration of Prime Earth. The events depicted in this issue adapt the final Pre-Flashpoint continuity– spanning from the aftermath of Final Crisis to Flashpoint– and shows how Prime Earth was restored in the wake Doctor Manhattan’s Doctor Manhattan's temporal manipulations. The issue then retells every major Prime Earth event– from The New 52 to the rise of King Omega/Darkseid in DC K.O..
- The epilogue also features a brief retelling of the most important possible futures.
- There are many changes to the DC continuity:
- In the reborn timeline of Prime Earth, the universe was never merged with alternate realities in the aftermath of Flashpoint, unlike in the original continuity. In this new continuity, the undoing of the Flashpoint Timeline merely restored the existing universe, which was subsequently altered by Doctor Manhattan and continued through the cycle of changes depicted in the Rebirth saga– excluding the alterations from Superman: Reborn.
- According to this issue, the WildC.A.T.s hail from an unnamed alternate reality; however, it remains unclear whether this world is an Hypertimeline, a parallel Earth within Multiverse-1, or some other world from the Infinite Frontier.
- Although the first story suggests that all the Wildstorm characters come from another universe, the timeline just states that Apollo, Midnighter, and Engineer are not native to Prime Earth for sure.
- This retcon has never been directly addressed– or even hinted at– in any story from the Infinite Frontier era onwards.
- In the original Prime Earth continuity, these characters were native to Prime Earth as a consequence of the merger between New Earth and the Wildstorm Universe in Flashpoint (Volume 2) #5.
- The characters from the Flashpoint panel in the DC timeline are supposedly their Prime Earth selves instead of New Earth/Vertigo Universe/Wildstorm Universe counterparts.
- The DC Timeline is based on research by Mark Waid and Dave Wielgosz. There is also a special thanks to John Wells.
Trivia[]
- In the "new" version of the Flashpoint, an alternate timeline ovewrote the original Prime Earth timeline. This closely mirrors the Flashpoint from the Arrowverse continuity, in which a similar, but different timeline similarly replaced the original Earth-1 continuity.
- The members of Jon Kent's temporary Justice League from Dark Crisis are referred to as "legacy heroes." This references a note on Rip Hunter's Board from Flashpoint Beyond, which mentioned the "fall" of the Justice League– from Justice League (Volume 4) #75– and the rise of the "Legacy League."
