Synopsis for "Defective"

Amanda Waller heads in to work at Belle Reve and demands a mission update from her assistant Bonnie. She learns - with some annoyance - that the Suicide Squad has already made it into the their target country and are proceeding to the drop off point before she had been made aware of it. There is no word from her supervisor, Vic Sage, who went to Washington, D.C. to beg to have her control over the nanobombs in the Squad's necks revoked and given to him. She hopes that in his absence, the mission will go well for once.

In the meantime, she decides to check on Deadshot, who is in physical therapy after being wounded in the last mission. He is pleased when Amanda comes to see him personally. Despite that, she is non-committal about his potential to be put back in the field, even though she preferred him on her team without the additions Vic Sage made - particularly considering that Deathstroke betrayed the team to the Russians. Floyd is annoyed when he learns that Waller is considering Captain Boomerang as his replacement in the field during rehabilitation. Along with him will be going Black Manta, Harley Quinn, the Reverse-Flash, and a few Man-Bat Commandos. Floyd is obviously disappointed, and Amanda warns him that he has to get 100% better - because he's no use to her broken.

En route to China, the Squad's members get acquainted, and it soon becomes clear that this mission is not going to be what any of them expected.

Once in position, Waller contacts Manta to wish him good luck as the Man-Bats swoop into a Chinese facility and kill the guards. After Reverse-Flash blows the wall, the others speed into the facility to discover that the Chinese government is mass-producing its own super-heroes in tubes. Soon, though, the alarm sounds, and in an attempt to shut it off, Harley slams her fist on a big red button - which wakes the creatures in the tubes. Disgusted by the failed and incomplete creations' appearance, they are faced with yet another mission gone awry.
