Notes
- The Vanguard's entry in the DC Comics Encyclopedia and DC Comics Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded confirm that the events of this issue retained canonicity in Post-Crisis continuity.
- The events from this issue take place in flashback. The framing device featuring Jericho takes place after New Teen Titans (Volume 2) #12. The story references the events of Trigon's coming to Earth but also takes place in Titans Tower which wasn't shown to be completely rebuilt until New Teen Titans (Volume 2) #13. Modern collections also put the issue here for this reason.
- The events of the flashback are difficult to place. It must take place after New Teen Titans #31, when Terra gained the Titans' trust and was made a full member, and before the start of the Judas Contract storyline in Tales of the Teen Titans #42. On the other hand, Robin took a leave of absence and Kid Flash quit altogether in New Teen Titans #39, which may explain why they are absent.
- Inconsistencies with established continuity may be explained by Jericho imagining things happening differently, the record itself being faulty, or, of course, Hypertime.
- Anti-Matterman is not to be confused with the Justice League of America villain Anti-Matter Man.
Trivia
- Robin (Pre-Nightwing) and Kid Flash are the only members of the Teen Titans who do not make appearances in this issue.
- Cyborg mentions a battle with a villain called "the Corruptor" before the Titans met Jericho. This has never been expanded upon. Cyborg may simply have been joking and no such villain exists.
