  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
  • Although Nick and Phil belonged to two separate military units, their serial numbers were very similar. Phil's was 408866, and Nick's was 409966. This was also the serial number of Easy Company topkick Sgt. Rock. Allegedly, the number 409966 was writer Robert Kanigher's own dogtag number during the time he spent in the service.[1]
