Nightowl was an enemy of Mary Marvel.

History

The Nightowl was a jewel thief with a mutation in his eyes. It allowed him to see in the dark, but bright lights blinded him. He posed as a blind beggar by day to case his jobs and used a special darkflash to blind his enemies.

He roomed with the Blomfield family under the name of "Henry Stibbs" and hid his large eyes with bandages and sunglasses, supposedly to hide burn scars. He hid the stolen jewels in their house, knowing the police would never suspect such a respectable household.

Mary Marvel failed to stop him twice, though she quickly deduced the blind man she saw across the city was the Nightowl. In their fights, she also noticed he preferred the dark and shied away from the light - just like their lodger, Henry Stibbs. Once exposed, the Nightowl was easily apprehended. He was hospitalized and his loot returned to its rightful owners.
