A man in a skydiving suit is attacked by a swarm of Bats, while he descends on the night sky of Manhattan.

A light signal has been turned on in the night of New York City and the symbol of Nightwing is summoning him. Nightwing locates the source of the light and confronts Two-Face, who is responsible for creating a "Night-Signal" to contact him. Nightwing is suspicious about Two-Face's true motives to call him, but after talking to him, he realizes that Dent is actually asking for Nightwing's help. After a brief confrontation, Nightwing learns that Batman taught Dent some combat moves. Dent explains that one of Gotham's District Attorneys is in grave danger and he asks Nightwing to protect her. Her name is Carol Bermingham and Dent then reveals that in the past he used to love her, despite being a married man. Now that she has been targeted by a dangerous threat, Dent needs to make sure she is safe and he tells Nightwing all the details he needs to know to keep her safe. Before leaving, Nightwing punches Dent in the face and tells him to choose a side and Dent replies that he always does.

Nightwing goes to Gotham and on his way to the place where Bermingham is, he saves a couple from dying on a sugar silo trap. Meanwhile, Carol Bermingham is escorted by Security Agents to the car that would take her to testify on court. However, the truck of the car is spilling blood and Nightwing appears just in time to take all of them out. He saves Carol and explains that some criminals have killed the real Agents and placed them on the car's truck. After that, Nightwing takes her to the court in time to testify.

However, Nightwing decides to stay outside the court to make sure that Carol won't be attacked again. Nightwing watches as Carol is bein escorted by the NYPD to the rooftop of the courthouse and approaches a helicopter that would take her to New York.
