Nightwing (Volume 2) #44 is an issue of the series Nightwing (Volume 2) with a cover date of June, 2000.
Synopsis for "The Stalkers"
Nite-Wing breaks into the home of Chief Redhorn to take revenge because the cop set him up recently. Redhorn tries to calm Nite-Wing down, but then fires with two guns at him. But Nite-Wing has gotten better and is able to knock the Chief down. He wants all files on Blockbuster and Redhorn agrees to give them to Nite-Wing. His hopes are that Desmond will take care of the vigilante.
Blockbuster has other problems though. His IT specialist still has no clue who Oracle is or if that cyber legend really exists. But certainly Desmond has lost a lot of money because of Oracle. Meanwhile, exactly that Oracle tells Nightwing that Mac Arnot was the son-in-law of Jimmy Navarone, a former vicelord in Gotham City. Obviously, that background did not stop Mac Arnot to become a cop in Bludhaven.
The kidnapped Alistair Bendel-White has made phone contact with the council of Intergang. Torque wants to work together with them to take over Bludhaven. At the same time, Chief Redhorn decides to leave the city for a while and that Mac Arnot should take over his duties.
Later, Nightwing meets Nite-Wing who proudly presents him all files on Blockbuster. Nite-Wing now wants to confront Blockbuster directly and surprisingly Nightwing agrees. While Dick directly approaches Blockbuster, Nite-Wing takes another entrance. But there he is quickly spotted by the gorilla Grimm. And Grimm does not only knock out Nite-Wing, but his partner Nightwing as well. Blockbuster is pleased with Grimm's work, but now he intends to find Oracle ...
