Synopsis for "On a Christmas Evening"
It is christmas time and after Nightwing took down a crooked Santa Claus, Dick heads to the Bludhaven Police Department for his "regular" job. Every year the post office drops letters at the police station which kids originally addressed to Santa Claus. According to Amy Rohrbach most of the letters are from poor kids living in problem areas of Bludhaven and the police tries to fulfill at least some of the kids' wishes. Dick reads a letter from a girl named Sharra who just wants to prevent her daddy from doing bad stuff because he cannot find a job.
After finishing his shift, Dick puts on his costume again and searches the whole city for Sharra. Because his efforts are futile, Dick contacts Tim Drake to help him out by using his computer skills. But Tim comes up empty as well.
Next day, Dick one again is on police patrol with Amy. A case leads them to a toy store where Dick finds out that "Sharra" is the name of a popular doll. Dick suspects that the girl who wrote the letter did not sign using her real name, but the name of the doll. Later, Nightwing interrogates a guy who is illegally selling Sharra dolls on the street and finally comes up with an address. Nightwing arrives at the appartment of Dave Toussant just in time to take out some thugs who wanted to attack "Sharra's" father because she actually flushed their drugs down the toilet. Nightwing has another christmas present for the family. He tells the father to introduce himself at Spillane Avenue Agency next day because a job opportunity might be waiting for him there. Indeed, Dave becomes the new superintendent to replace Bridget Clancy ...
