Synopsis for "The Battle For Bludhaven's Heart"

Dick's community centre "Haven" finally opens in spite of Blockbuster's attempts to prevent it. Blockbuster attends the ribbon-cutting ceremony accompanied by Commissioner Maclean and Mayor Zucco. Blockbuster obliquely threatens Dick but backs down when the event's special guest Superman arrives. Melinda tells Dick that the mayor's office has paperwork for him, a code phrase warning him that someone will attack the site that night.

A group of thugs attack Haven in the night and attempt to burn it down, but Nightwing fights them off and is able to unmask them in the process. Meanwhile, Heartless breaks into Blockbuster's office and offers to help him deal with Dick.

  • The pizza stand Dick Grayson passes in Haven is called Marv and George's Pizza, which is a reference to Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, who were the creators of Nightwing. George and Marv appear at the stand and are drawn to match both creators' actual appearances.
