Nikola Hanssen is the second person to possess the Void entity. The first was Adrianna Tereshkova.
History
Captain Atom: Armageddon

When Captain Atom was displaced into the Wildstorm Universe due to preventing a kryptonite asteroid from destroying his Earth, Void has bound itself to a new host, a paramedic named Nikola Hanssen, while another part of it has bound itself to Captain Atom. Knowing what it feels like to be weak and scared in the Wildstorm Universe, Nikola willingly claimed her full powers from Captain Atom, with whom she shared a bond of love and trust, and used it to destroy and recreate a new Wildstorm Universe, known as the WorldStorm, as Captain Atom's universe was recreated in the same moment during the Infinite Crisis.[1] Due to Captain Atom's quantum jumping powers, Nikola was able to see him in her new universe, but could not explain to him the creation of a new Universe. Apparently, Nikola was the only person in the whole Wildstorm Universe to remember the reboot.
Wildstorm: Armageddon

Nikola later fell under the control of Tao, who posed himself as a doctor and bent her to his will. He used her to help in his schemes to allow the events leading to Armageddon to happen. Void was used to trick several heroes who would have prevented Armageddon by enlisting their help to stop this catastrophe. Void took Midnighter, Maximum Man, Dane, Caitlin Fairchild, John Doran and Nemesis to a apocalyptic future to show them just enough to ensure that it would come to pass and that they could do nothing about it.[2] Tao further used her power to influence some of the most powerful beings on the planet such as Majestic and Jackson King to help bring Armageddon to pass while preparing himself and his forces for it.[2]
World's End

After the end of the world, Tao studied and learned from Void about the Orb of Power and other cosmic beings who possessed parts of the Orb's essence, and was determined to collect their powers in order to become a god.[3] Tao used Void to attack and capture Providence before focusing his search for Max Faraday.[4]
Void and Providence were imprisoned at Tao's base of operations in Salt Lake City, Utah until they were freed when the Wildcats and Team 7 invaded the compound to stop Tao. Nikola helped the heroes by giving some of her powers to Spartan, who previously possessed the previous Void's powers.[5] However, Tao absorbed Providence's powers and overwhelmed Spartan. In desperation, Nikola gave up what remains of powers to Providence to hold off Tao and allowing Nikola, the Wildcats and Team 7 to escape at the cost of her life.[6]
She and the others tracked down Max Faraday and discovered that he was responsible for the "rapture" of billions of people to escape unharmed from Armageddon in specific, secured and undamaged places such as St. Louis. They also learned that Faraday's isolation was to await for normal humanity to be free from metahumans as they were previously responsible for not doing anything that was good nor ever helping mankind in the past. However, they convinced Max about Tao and he agreed and fought the villain in one of Faraday's island sanctuaries.[7]
During the battle, Tao and Void's allies reached a standstill as everyone obtained the power of the Creation Equation, but Tao prove too advantageous in tricking everyone to face their greatest fear and tragedies. Void remained out of Tao's influence, and with help from Max's wife Susanna Chaste, who was also empowered with the Creation Equation, they chose a different strategy to defeat Tao. They looked into Majestic's memories to learn more about Tao's life and discovered that he is still a traumatized child who in his lifetime never had a real family and never experienced love due to his upbringing as a lab experiment, which led to his destructive personality.[8]
With this information, Void and Susanna confronted Tao and revealed to him his flaws and personal traumas, and pointed out that he could have undone Armageddon and even finally known kindness if he hadn't been raised neglectfully. Furthermore, the Creation Equation that Tao possessed will eventually "fix" his trauma and reform him into a kinder person. Tao was very unwilling to allow this to happen in which he reluctantly relinquished most of his power to Void and Faraday before he was soon shot in the head by Grifter and retreated by using what remained of his powers.[9]
Even though Tao relinquished his powers back to Void and Faraday, they do not have enough power to repair Earth. Void then joined Max and his wife to help protect and transport all the survivors whom Max saved to the Hollow Realm.[9]
