Kwai is a member of the Blood Syndicate.
History
Kwai comes from the mythical land of Kwen Lun and is daughter of the Jade Emperor that rules it.[1]
At some point in the past, presumably early in her very first life, she accepted a contract to kill her enemy and sister Demon Fox, leading to a series of 77 reincarnated lives on Earth in ever-renewing conflict with Demon Fox.
She is often accompanied by her cat familiar, Pearl. In Kwen Lun, one of her most reliable allies is the Monkey King.[1]
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Transformation: By saying the name, "Kwai", Nina Lam can transform into the enhanced form of an ancient Chinese mythological being.
- Unique Physiology: Kwai has pointed ears and unusually long eyebrows and eyelashes. Her hair is approximately nine feet in length while relaxed, but can reach greater lengths when extended. Kwai also has gold blood.
- Magic: Kwai can materialize clothes and weapons as well as affect physical or spiritual wellbeing.
- Healing
- Resurrection
- Flight
- Empathy: Kwai can read people hearts in order to determine if they are telling the truth.
Abilities
- Stick Fighting
- Multilingualism: Kwai can speak both English and Mandarin.
Trivia
Kwai's real name is "Shen Hsien Pu Kwei", as revealed in Blood Syndicate #33. When among other denizens of Kuen Lun, they often address her as just "Pu".
