Notes
- Doctor Mist was created by E. Nelson Bridwell and Ramona Fradon, first appearing in Super Friends #12. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Doctor Mist first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Justice League Dark #9 by Jeff Lemire and Mikel Janin.
- The name "Nommo" comes from the Nommo, primordial ancestral spirits of the Dogon people of Mali, who physically resemble Merpeople. However, there has not been any indication that Dr. Mist is an actual Nommo.
- Earlier versions of Doctor Mist had been tied to the novels of H. Rider Haggard, with Mist being from the ancient kingdom of Kor, and gaining his immortality from the Pillar of Life, both concepts from the novel She. Those Haggard-derived elements have not yet been shown to be part of the background of the Prime Earth Mist.
