Nyneve was the lover and apprentice of Merlin. She trapped him for centuries under Stonehenge.
History
In the year 3000, King Arthur was able to free Merlin from his prison to help him save the Earth from alien invaders. Together they gathered Arthur's knights, who had been reincarnated in the 30th Century, and won victories against the aliens. Unfortunately however, Lancelot and Guinevere once again had an affair and Arthur fell into a deep depression, unwilling even to stir himself from his throne. In a desperate attempt to rouse Arthur, his foster brother Sir Kay destroyed a talisman which prevented Nyneve from approaching Merlin, hoping a crisis would stir Arthur from his funk. Kay had assumed Merlin would be able to resist Nyneve, but she again entrapped him and took him to the alien's world of Chiron, where she joined up with their leader Morgan LeFay.
Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table eventually invaded Chiron and stormed Castle LeFay where Merlin was being held. Nyneve kept him entranced, but Arthur threw Modred, who was wearing armour made from the Holy Grail at Merlin. The holy power of the Grail reacted with Merlin's demonic magic, killing Modred and breaking Nyneve's spell. Freed from her enchantment, Merlin choked Nyneve to death with her own tongue.
