Determined to prolong his own life, Arnicus Wolfram sent a troop of soldiers armed with Apokoliptian technology to Panama to capture Orion. The soldiers used Radion Stingers and the Oedipus Crown to subdue him and taking him back to Metropolis where his life force would be transferred to Arnicus.

Capabilities

The Oedipus Crown is a high-tech helmet that when connected to a person's head release two charges of explosive bolts to blind it. Those bolts are powerful enough to blow out Orion's eyes, despite his superhuman durability[1].
