Onu Murtu was a female alien that befriended Green Lantern Hal Jordan, and allied with him on occasion. While on Earth, she went by the alias of Dorine Clay.

Onu Murtu came from the planet Garon, where their rulers, the Headmen, used the Cerebro-Ray to keep the people submissive and under their control. However, Onu was immune to its control, and she attempted to secretly develop a way to cancel the effect of the Cerebro-Ray and free the rest of her people. The Headmen became suspicious, and when they were about to arrest her, Onu escaped to Earth to complete her work, where she adopted the identity of Dorine Clay. There, she befriended Hal Jordan, who, as Green Lantern, discovered her real alien identity and decided to help her. When the Headmen followed Dorine to Earth, Green Lantern confronted them, causing them to run away and return to Garon. Still, Dorine didn't stay on Earth, because she decided to return to her home and bring the antidote for the Cerebro-Ray to her people and gather a rebellion to defeat their rulers.[1]

Dorine's antidote worked on a few that initiated the rebellion, but the movement was unsuccessful, and she fell prisoner along those still in the influence of the Headmen. When the Headmen managed to abduct and hold Green Lantern prisoner, Dorine was scheduled to be executed with him. But their execution was averted by the Omega Men, and together they defeated the Headmen and set the people of Garon free.[2]

Green Lantern took her and her people to the desolate planet of Aoran, so they could settle and rebuild their society.[3] Dorine then joined Hal on his ship while he journeyed through space.
