History

An Orange Power Ring is powered by avarice, or greed. The wielders of the Orange Power Rings are covered in a deeper aura than members of other Corps. According to Ganthet, "the orange light of avarice will be discovered and manipulated by a being whose greed knows no bounds".[1] The Controllers, an off-shoot of the Oan race, are searching the Vega star-system for the orange light in order to create their own Corps.[2] Wielders of Orange Power Rings also appear to steal the Power Rings of other Corps.[1]

Recently during the events of Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns the Controllers believed they located the orange light on the planet Okarra within the Vega star-system. Without the interference of the Guardians they can finally attain a power source that will allow them, and them alone the means of creating an army to control the universe. The Controllers' greed knows no bounds.

In Green Lantern #39 as the orange light of avarice erupts in violence within the Vega System, the secrets of the Guardians' pact with the criminals of the universe that has kept the Vega System off limits is revealed. And Hal Jordan comes face to face with the mysterious and immensely powerful "Agent Orange" in a bizarre confrontation.
