Orca is a super-villain and eco-terrorist who first appeared as an antagonist to Batman. After an accident left her crippled, Dr. Grace Balin experimented with spinal cord tissue regeneration using orca tissue. This experiment enabled Balin to transform into an aquatic creature resembling a whale. After several encounters with Batman, Balin was forced into taking more of her experimental chemical, resulting in her permanently staying in Orca form.

Orca was created by Larry Hama and Scott McDaniel, first appearing in Batman #579. (2000)
