Our Army at War #201 is an issue of the series Our Army at War (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1969.

Synopsis for "Sgt. Rock: The Graffiti Writer"

Sgt. Rock and Easy Company grew tired while walking to a town and came upon a sign with messages taunting the sergeant. Upon entering the city, Sgt. Rock grew suspicious of the "wall-writin' joker" before Easy Company was ambushed by Nazis coming out of manholes with mortars. Easy Company fought back with Little Sure Shot throwing a mortar into a manhole.

Afterwards, Easy Company found more wall writing. After leaving the town, they found a note from the writer. They went into the woods where they were attacked by a half-buried Nazi tank. They wrapped TNT around the surrounding trees so that they would fall and crush the tank.

They found another note from the writer, attached to the tank, and Rock vowed to "wring his neck." After leaving the woods, they came into an open field and saw writing on a nine-foot high stone fence. They followed the wall until they reached a hole where they spotted an ambush. They were able to surprise the enemy, instead, and defeat them.

Afterwards, they seemingly learned the identity of the wall scribbler. However, it was just a drawing with the caption "Kilroy was here!"

Synopsis for "Drummer of Waterloo"

This story is reprinted from Our Army at War #14.

After a seeming victory in Waterloo, the British Army heard French drums beating, believing an attack was coming. They saw a drummer boy named Raoul and their marshal ordered his troops not to fire on him. Raoul told the soldiers that Napoleon himself gave him the drum.

During a battle against the British, Napoleon ordered Raoul to not stop beating the drum until a marshal of the army had ordered him to do so. The French attacked the British, who still remained powerful. The Old Guard arrived to reinforce their army, but were hit by a counterattack, causing a retreat. However, Raoul refused to stop playing his drum until instructed to do so. After being caught in an explosion, he dropped his drum on the ground.

In the final stages of the Battle of Waterloo, the British Army prepared to face Napoleon and his old guard. Before the British defeated the French, Raoul lost consciousness and when he woke up, he continued to play his drum until the marshal (of the British Army, rather than the French), the Duke of Wellington, ordered him to stop and gave him a medal and a salute.

A U.S. marine had always had his watch on his hand. Even during the blast of naval invasion guns, when it became wet while jumping off of an assault craft, and got it covered with sand on the beach. However, he dropped it in the jungle.

While looking for his watch, the marine was shot by a sniper. After the sniper approached him and before he could execute him, the marine shot the sniper, as he heard his watch tick.

The watch continued to tick as an enemy tank approached and opened fire. The marine climbed onto the tank and destroyed it while exploding its ammo while firing through its view slit. Afterwards, the marine picked up his watch and placed it backon his arm.
