Synopsis for Sgt. Rock: "Soldiers Never Die!"

When Willie is killed in a skirmish with Nazi soldiers, his buddy Midge cannot accept the fact that he is dead, and it takes an effort for Rock to convince him to leave Willie's body behind. Rock tries to explain to Midge that a soldier never dies, and when they battle in subsequent battles with Nazi forces, Rock and others call out other dead soldiers, as a battle cry as well as commemoration of their sacrifices.

Midge fails to see the point in this until a point where he is the only one able to destroy a Nazi attack boat which has pinned down the men Easy Co. When he tosses a grenade he calls out to Willie, and realizes what Rock was trying to explain to him: As long as a soldier is remembered he is never truly dead.
