Synopsis for "Burn It Down and Start Again"
In a white void, a manifestation of the Carrier's consciousness holds back the wave of destruction Jakita unleashed. She tells Jakita that they are now the only two stories in existence, but she now realises that she and Jakita want different endings. As her mind crumbles, the Carrier shows Jakita a possible future timeline which she has been able to preserve. In this timeline, Lucius Fox dies alone in hospital in eight years; Luke Fox is killed by the Challengers of the Unknown thirty-seven years in the future in Neo-Gotham; and Batwoman and the Final Knight kill each other in six months in a fight with the Final Knight. The Carrier pulls them each out of the timeline at the instant before their deaths. She tells them that they are authors, not characters, and to write a better story.
All four of them appear in the Multiversal Library. Jakita angrily yells at the Carrier to come back and put things to rights, but Lucius tells her the Carrier is dead and sacrificed herself to make sure they would stop her. The Outsiders attack Jakita but she once again easily overpowers them, saying that their violent "good-versus-evil" approach to problems is pointless against someone as powerful as her. Lucius challenges her to prove her point and make a better story than the one she was given, and Batwoman tells her that her only other option is to kill the only people who still care about her.
Jakita screams in frustration, realising that she is no longer the hero of the story; and now has to choose between being the villain or the narrator. She takes out the Planetary Guide and writes on the last page, then scrapes the Planetary logo off the front cover and writes "OUTSIDERS" in its place. She goes to place it on a shelf in the Library, and as she does so the room and the Outsiders once again fade away, leaving her alone with the book suspended in mid-air. The Carrier's spirit appears behind her and tells her she is doing the right thing. Jakita says she is happy the Carrier is there at the end, but the Carrier replies it is never the end.
The Outsiders wake up on the Carrier. Luke realises that Jakita altered the timeline so that she fired herself, rather than The End into the Library, and reality has been restored. Two months later, Luke meets up with Batwoman; who has quit the Outsiders and returned to vigilantism, in Gotham City. He reveals that Jenny Crisis has joined the Outsiders and he is planning to recruit the other Century Babies as well, hinting he wants to found a new Authority. Batwoman tells him that he still hasn't realised the world is constantly changing and chaotic, and the story will never be over.
In the Library, Jakita finishes the "OUTSIDERS" book and puts it back on the shelf. She scans the titles of the other books and finds one called "PLANETARY". She takes it off the shelf and opens it, and inside finds a comic book telling the story of her adventures with Planetary. She settles down to read it, saying "There you are".

Trivia
- This story marks the sixth time that Prime Earth is rebooted after the Rebirth, the merge between Prime Earth and New Earth in Superman: Reborn, Flex Mentallo's reboot during the Milk Wars, the undoing of Doctor Manhattan's "experiment" in Doomsday Clock #12 and The Hands' Cosmic Judgment from Dark Nights: Death Metal #7.
- However, it is the first reboot that doesn't alter the continuity of Earth 0.
