Pablo Marcos (b. March 31, 1937) is a comic book artist.
Professional History
Pablo Marcos is a professional illustrator and comic book artist. He started his career working for Peruvian newspapers as a cartoonist. Marcos moved to Mexico and started working for Editorial Novaro, after which he gain notoriety and moved to New Jersey. His breakthrough in the Amercian industry was at Warren Publishing, where he worked on the title Creepy. Sol Brodsky was responsible for giving Marcos his first comic book assignments and he is also responsible for giving Marcos the chance to work at Marvel Comics in the mid-70s, where he contributed to several of their horror books and his most notable contribution on the title "Conan The Barbarian". Marcos soon started working as a freelancer for DC Comics on some of the Man-Bat back-up features in Detective Comics and not long after this, he started working on various other titles including Teen Titans, Freedom Fighters, Kamandi and a few others.
Since the 90s, Marcos' contributions to the comic book industry have become sparse and usually for small publishers.
Personal History
Marcos was raised in Lima, Peru, where he majored in economics at Peru's University of Lima. He married Norma Martinez and they had four children before the moved to Mexico in 1967. Marcos and his family then moved to New Jersey in 1970. Pablo's wife, Norma, died in 1985 at the age of 42.
