Paco Testas is a friend of the Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes. Prior to his "death", Testas ingested a piece of the Khaji Da scarab and some of Jaime Reyes's mutated blood, which briefly mutated him into a red-and-black being called Blood Beetle.[1]

    The Blood Beetle

    As Blood Beetle, Paco was able to utilize powers similar and surpassing to Blue Beetle.[2]
    • Blue Beetle Armour: Paco could produce a suit of armor around his body capable of great feats.
      • Enhanced Strength
      • Technomorphy: Paco could manipulate the armor to take many shapes, usually in the form of weaponry.
        • Plasma Cannon: Paco could produce a cannon anywhere on the body capable of greatly harming or incinerating opponents.
        • Wings: Paco could manufacture a set of wings and jet propulsion which he can use to fly.
        • Melee Weapon Production: Paco was able to produce melee weapons such as swords and maces out of his arms for use in close combat.
      • Energy Pulse: Paco was able to create an outward surge of energy damaging anyone in a close vicinity.
      • Energy Shield: Blood Beetle was able to create an energy shield capable of surviving great trauma.
