Paul Dano (b. June 19, 1984) is an American actor and writer who portrayed the Riddler in The Batman and wrote The Riddler: Year One, a prequel comic to the film.

Paul Dano is an American character actor known primarily for his work in independent films and dramas, including Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood, 12 Years a Slave, Prisoners, and The Fablemans. In 2022, he received acclaim for his portrayal of the Riddler in Matt Reeves' film The Batman. Later that year, the comic miniseries The Riddler: Year One, a prequel to The Batman, was released, written by Dano based on notes he'd taken about his character during the film's production.
