Dr. Paul Geist PhD was an influential parapsychologist.

Paul Geist was born in Prague, Germany in 1924. His interest in what lies beyond death began during his father's funeral when Geist was 11. In his quest for proof of an afterlife, he attended several universities in Europe, eventually attaining a PhD. He traveled the world, investigating religious sites, as well as those claiming supernatural powers. While he debunked many charlatans, numerous events remained unexplainable. His travels and writings lead to him being considered one of the preeminent paranormal experts in the world. Geist eventually settled in New York City where he continued to lecture and write on supernatural topics.[1] While in New York, he became a mentor to noted skeptic Terrence Thirteen.[2] A series of excerpts titled The Files of Dr. Geist were released from an unfinished book he was writing called Grasping the Hand of the Unknown. These files detailed many supernatural encounters he could not explain through normal scientific methods.
