Synopsis for "A Whole New Whirled"

Murn recruits Peacemaker
Five months after his Corto Maltese mission with Task Force X, the vigilante Chris Smith, also known as "Peacemaker", has made a miraculous recovery in the hospital and is discharged in his hometown of Evergreen, Washington. Shocked and overjoyed the authorities haven't apprehended him, he returns to his trailer, where he's ambushed by Clemson Murn and his A.R.G.U.S.-sanctioned covert ops team. He enlists Chris for "Project Butterfly", a mission in which he will kill specified targets called "Butterflies" to stay out of prison.
After Chris joins the team and agrees to meet them at a restaurant later that evening, he goes to retrieve his pet bald eagle, Eagly, from his abusive father, Auggie, as well as a powerful sonic blast helmet to replace his last one. Meeting with the team at the restaurant, Murn gives him a dossier on Senator Royland Goff, suspected to be a Butterfly. Peacemaker's obnoxious attitude and casual misogyny irritates most of his teammates, save for Leota Adebayo, who recognizes his need for companionship and strikes up a friendship with him.

Chris sits with Eagly
Peacemaker later follows his field handler, Emilia Harcourt, to a bar and tries hitting on her, but she turns down his proposals for sex. He instead hooks up with a woman named Annie Sturphausen, and the two go back to her apartment. Soon after, Annie attacks Chris with superhuman strength and agility, and the two fight. Chris makes his way to his car, where he finds and uses the sonic boom helmet, which obliterates Annie and totals his car with the shockwave. He catches his breath on the pavement in his underwear with Eagly as the police begin to arrive.
