Pedro Peña is a boy in the Philadelphia foster care system, raised by Victor and Rosa Vasquez. Eventually, Pedro and his foster siblings gained the powers of Shazam, making them superheroes.[1]

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the DC Extended Universe and is an adaptation of Pedro Peña. The original character was created by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert and first appeared in Flashpoint (Volume 2) #1.
- Pedro Peña is played by Jovan Armand. Superhero Pedro is played by D.J. Cotrona.
Trivia
- Shazam! screenwriter Henry Gayden has confirmed that Pedro is gay, which was previously hinted at in the 2019 movie.[2] In Shazam!: Fury of the Gods Special - Shazamily Matters #1 Pedro is seen to have a romantic interest in a male baseball player (number 7 Marcell Wade[3] from the Philadelphia Phillies, and he has his team jacket).
