In the 1940s, Pen Miller was the world's first and most famous Cartoonist-Detective.

For almost ten years, Pen Miller wrote and drew comics based on his own crime-solving adventures, which were published in National Comics.[1] Pen Miller gained his reputation by putting the likes of "Nokky" Ryan and "Gouge" Cahill behind bars.[2]

Miller's studio/residence/library address in those days was 144 Spruce Blvd.,[3] a multistory apartment building.[2]

Pen Miller employed an Asian valet named Niki,[2] who was proficient at Jiu-Jitsu.[4]
