Percy Sheldrake, the Earl of Wordenshire, was one of the United Kingdom's prime superheroes, the Knight. He was a member of the Young Allies and the Batmen of All Nations.

Earth-Two

Inspired by the American vigilantes known as Batman and Robin, the Earl of Wondershire and his son decided to emulate them. The Earl adopted the alias if "Knight" and his son became "Squire". Together, they worked as vigilantes in their town and eventually they met their role models, The Dynamic Duo.[1]

New Earth

Origin

Percy Sheldrake was saved from certain death by Shining Knight, and became his sidekick, the Squire.

Club of Heroes

Later becoming the Knight in his own right, he joined the Club of Heroes. His career as the Knight is largely unknown. What is known is that his son, Cyril, took his old identity as the Squire and served as his sidekick.

Death

Percy Sheldrake was eventually killed by his nemesis, Springheeled Jack, who forced him to swallow a bomb. After his death, his son took up the identity of the Knight.[2]
