Synopsis for "Planetary Systems"

Elijah Snow, The Drummer and Jakita Wagner are in their Brazilian Planetary offices. Snow takes the other two to a sub-basement of the building while on the way explaining that he did tortured William Leather. He explains how he's one of the earth's protective systems, built into the fabric of reality.

And so, too, are many of the things they've witnessed: The Ghost Cop from issue #3, John Leather from issue #22, and so on. Snow then reveals to Jakita that her father was Lord Blackstock and that she is the daughter of a century baby. He also tells her that her mother was Snow's first true love, a denizen of Opak-Re. The time for secrets and mystery is past, he says. Snow goes on to explain how they've been leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for The Four, investigating things, writing about them (him in his Planetary Guides), and The Four have just been stealing that information from the world. Cheating the human race. So he's decided to change the way they do things, by fighting back. Sending Greene out of the galaxy, torturing Leather for information.

Snow also tells Drummer and Jakita that he believes Ambrose Chase is not really dead, that he found a way to shunt himself into a place where he would not die. Furthermore, Snow says he is going to find a way to bring Ambrose back.

While the three are down in the basement an orbital death ray, directed by the remainder of The Four, destroys the Planetary building. Snow, The Drummer and Jakita survive the devastation due to the basement's invulnerability, but everyone else dies. Emerging from what left of the building, Planetary is renewed in their struggle against the Four with Snow declares that the game is afoot.
