Platinum was a robot created by William Magnus, posing as his old love, Tina.
History
Years ago, William Magnus was a college friend to Kirk Langstrom and Tina. During their final days as members of Luthor's Boys, Will discovered Kirk was dying of cancer, forcing the former to inject a prototype serum which used bat DNA. The results turned Kirk into the living vampire better known as Batman. Over time, William and Tina married, while Will looked into a cure for his friend's condition. However Tina constantly pressured Will into saving Kirk, all to the point where he struck her. Tina stumbled back and hit her head on the coffee table, killing her. Distraught by what he had done, Will came to the conclusion that if someone like him could do such a thing, then no one could be trusted with their own free will. Thus, Will developed a nanite bomb which would have everyone on Earth linked as one hive mind, and created the robot Platinum' to take Tina's place so no one would be suspicious of her disappearance.
Platinum served as Magnus' companion and bodyguard. She was composed of a liquid metal allow that could mimic the appearance of human skin and cloth.
Magnus engineered an attack on a group of former Luthor's Boys scientists, including himself. Despite Batman's intervention, the robots killed the others and inflicted apparently nearly fatal injuries on Magnus. Batman took him to the Justice League tower, which had medical facilities far more advanced than conventional hospitals, to recover. This was, in fact, part of Magnus' plan to gain access to the tower, as it held Superman's ship, which had the only power source capable of powering the nanite bomb.
Platinum infiltrated the tower and injected Magnus with organic nanites, allowing him to instantly heal his injuries and granting him superhuman strength. Platinum fought Wonder Woman; her superhuman strength, agility and regenerative capabilities allowed her to gain the upper hand over the New God. However, Wonder Woman stabbed her sword into Platinum and activate the mother box in the hilt, teleporting Platinum into the sun, where she was presumably destroyed.
