The Port of Missing Ships is situated in the Sargasso Sea, and is one of the weirdest parts of the Bermuda Triangle.

History

In 1952, by accident, the Blackhawks discovered an island paradise whose inhabitants never age, and live for centuries, in peace. While returning home from a different mission, the famous flying team experienced simultaneous engine failure, and were forced to land, in an eerie fog-shrouded region of the Sargasso Sea. They landed their Lockheed jets on an airstrip composed of an enormous mass of fragrant seaweed, giving off vapors of an unknown kind. Here they found an assortment of ships, from many ages and nations, stranded in this mist, ships from many parts of the world, and from many historical eras. The inexplicably surviving crew members were friendly, and seemingly immortal. The ships were lodged in place among massive and very durable mats of sargasso seaweed. Also, there is a supply of wood which has allowed the inhabitants to build walkways between their ships.

The Blackhawks were able to escape the region by capturing a renegade U-boat, and using it to tow their aircraft, parked aboard big wooden rafts, out of the Sargasso Sea. They are the only pilots known to have visited this place and returned. They have never revealed its location.

Points of Interest

  • Technically it's not an island, being made mostly of extremely durable seaweed.
  • In this region, motors do not work, and navigation thru the seaweeds is impossible.

Residents

  • seemingly immortal captains and crewmen of a dozen nations, from many historical eras

Notes

  • The now-common term "Bermuda Triangle" had not yet been coined in 1952. In the Quality Universe, this area has seemingly supernatural properties, and its multinational transhistoric settlement of stranded seafaring inhabitants seem to be immortal.
  • The Blackhawks have sworn among themselves to never reveal the location of the Port of Missing Ships.
