Quote1 I see ... so we've got a combination of MATTER and ANTI-MATTER man, armed to convert positive into negative, and negative into positive ... and then transform or destroy either or both! WHEW! Quote2
Blackhawk src

Positive-Negative Man was an enemy of the Blackhawks.

One night in the 1960s, a dim-witted small-time hoodlum burgled his way into an atomic test apparatus, and got turned into a completely new type of entity, composed of matter AND anti-matter. In this new form the Positive-Negative Man had an array of incredible super powers. It soon was learned that he had had many of these powers for his whole life, but had never learned how to develop them. Under the sinister guidance of his new mentor, Dr. Devit, this mutated freak prepared to attempt some ambitious crimes.

The Positive-Negative Man's career was ended by the Blackhawks, who encased him in a sealed lead capsule. It is not clear how, or whether, the Positive-Negative Man survived this treatment.

Powers

  • He could grow to be at least 100 feet tall.
  • His fists, possibly his whole skin, was electrified.
  • He could cause metal objects to explode just by pointing at them.
  • Negative Matter items could be transformed into new shapes via mental commands from the Positive-Negative Man, and he could transform anything into negative Matter.

Weaknesses

  • He unexpectedly fainted and reverted to his human form for no apparent reason.
  • His sub-conscious anti-matter mind takes over when he is in his mutated form.

Weapons

  • He carried a Positive Gun, which could transform the atoms of any object to Positive Matter, and a Negative Gun, which could do the opposite. These guns were invented by Dr. Devit.

  • This version of Positive-Negative Man, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
