Synopsis for "Valhalla is for Lovers"

Axel has taken Power Girl to the mythical realm of Valhalla. There, Power Girl stands next to a treat and is greeted by the talking squirrel Ratatosk, who also informs Axel that Siegfried wants to see him. Power Girl and Axel find Siegfried partaking in the Battle of Valor, a fight that happens every day in Valhalla. The warriors in this battle fight and die, only to be resurrected tomorrow and repeat the cycle. Siegfried offers Power Girl a place in the fight and she takes the opportunity to show off her strength, easily defeating an entire group of warriors with a single punch. Siegfried is impressed, but Axel doesn't appreciate the attention his cousin is giving to his date.

Power Girl and Axel invited to dinner at the Great Hall, where the warriors of Valhalla eat, drink and share war stories. Power Girl is confused when she sees that animals are also present at Valhalla, and Axel explains that animals are allowed when they die protecting their kin. Siegfried reminds his cousin to test a pair of special boots Axel had acquired and Axel invites Power Girl to watch him. According to Axel, these boots used to be worn by Vidar, the god of vengeance, and grant their wearer super-speed. Power Girl challenges Axel to a race, which takes them across the nine realms and ends in the exact same place it started. Axel initially has trouble keeping pace with Power Girl but ultimately catches up to her and they kiss.

Their journey across Valhalla culminates in a mysterious structure, which Axel has been using to store the all the items he has taken from Earth. Axel says that his job involves taking objects touched and tainted by divinity to prevent them from being abused or misused by humanity. Once they venture deep into the structure, known as the "Charnel House of God-Thought", Axel summons two raven-like creatures: Hugin and Munin. They are the archivists of the Charnel House.

Axel uses the magic of the house to show a picture of his initial meeting with Power Girl and explains that he wanted to retrieve the Hermod Helm, which Power Girl's organization had somehow acquired. He also shows his favorite item in the house, the Mirror of Mimir. It's a special kind of scrying pool that depicts secret knowledge. Axel says that the person using the mirror only needs to ask something and the mirror will show it. Power Girl asks about her friend Omen and the mirror shows Omen consumed by negative, traumatic feelings.
