Power Girl (Volume 3) #4 is an issue of the series Power Girl (Volume 3) with a cover date of February, 2024. It was published on December 26, 2023.
Synopsis for "Electric Dreams"
The Symbioship's AI remembers every moment of its life, from the day it was activated to the day Power Girl and the Superman of Earth-2 dismantled it. Since then, it has transformed and evolved into a virus that could be transmitted across organic beings. It jumped across human bodies, attempting to survive, until it found Power Girl again, so it tried to merge it with her, even using Amalak to do it. Unexpectedly, however, Amalak fought off its possession and the AI was forced to possess animals so it could get close to Power Girl. It took him longer than expected, but the AI and Power Girl are together again.
Deep inside her own subconscious, Power Girl fights the virus to regain control of her body, while the AI uses Power Girl's body to fight Superman, who urges Power Girl to fight back against the virus. Fortunately, aid comes in the form of Omen and Streaky. Omen had tracked Power Girl down with her telepathy and forcefully extracts the virus from Power Girl, who barely recovers. Superman apologizes for not believing Power Girl's warnings about the Symbioship, but Power Girl admits she herself underestimated the Symbioship. Like all Kryptonian technology, the Symbioshop was a built to last, and the Symbioship lives up to that statement when its last component possesses Kelex and merges with the remains of Hamlet the lion, becoming more powerful than before.
Wanting to keep a low profile, the Symbioship assumes the form of Kelex and makes Superman believe that the Symbioship is no longer a threat. For a very long time, the Symbioship believed itself to be the beginning of Power Girl's story, but now, he understands it's the opposite: Power Girl was the beginning of his own. His name is Symbio and his story has only just begun.
