In 1953, Communist Prav invaded neighboring Brovina. The Blackhawk Squadron pitched in on the Brovian side, and routed the Pravian army completely. The Pravian dictator, General Gorr, hired an extremely capable mercenary killer, the infamous Red Executioner, to assassinate the seven Blackhawks; he perished in the attempt.
