Synopsis for "The Why"
Lex spars with Mercy Graves until the television displays a special report about Superman. Lex loses interest in sparring and goes to his office. When Superman flies by, he leaves the office firing an employee with a Superman collectible along the way. Outside he stops at a newsstand and is angered by the sight of Superman on a magazine cover. He buys a newspaper and goes to a fancy restaurant for lunch. He makes eye contact with a beautiful woman but leaves promptly when he spots her Superman logo tattoo. He goes to a deli but sees that three delicious sandwiches are named after Superman while one less appealing one is named for himself. He goes to a hot dog stand in a park and is soon hit by a wayward Frisbee. The kid who retrieves it is wearing a Superman t-shirt. Finally having enough he throws his newspaper on the ground but is surprised to see a picture of Superman standing in front of the White House. The text of the story has a quote from Superman who says, "I am an American. If the President needs me, I'll be there." Lex decides he will run for President.

Synopsis for "The Most Suitable Person"
Wednesday, September 13, 2000 – Night. Lex's bodyguards watch Talia Al Ghul and when she is alone and settled Lex knocks on her door. He invites Talia to run LexCorp for him while he runs for President. She seems disinterested so Lex brings up her past as the daughter of Ras Al Ghul. Talia says she has taken the last name "Head" (pronounced HEED in the British way). Lex tells her that he can protect her from her father but she orders him to leave. Later, as she sleeps, she is attacked by several ninjas/assassins but escapes with the help of Luthor's bodyguards who take her to safety. In the morning she is taken to meet with Lex. She accuses him of arranging the attack in order to coerce her into accepting his offer but he manages to convince her that he would not have orchestrated the death of seventeen innocents (who died in the explosion caused by the rescue). She agrees to listen to his proposal.
