Professor James Moriarty is a master criminal and the arch-nemesis to detective Sherlock Holmes. He was active in London during the late 19th Century. Professor Moriarty was originally created by writer Arthur Conan Doyle, but he was adapted to DC Comics by Dennis O'Neil and E.R. Cruz in Sherlock Holmes #1. (1975)
