Proselyte is the physical embodiment of compassion.
History
In one scenario for Brainiac's defeat, Atrocitus killed the Coluan, unintentionally destroying all the cities Brainiac had collected. For that, the Red Lantern Corps turned on Atrocitus, preparing to kill him if Proselyte had not intervened. Showing Atrocitus that rage alone was not the way, Proselyte sent the Red Lantern Corps down a more righteous path, adopting a new policy of using their rage against those that deserved it, and compassion to those that didn't.
